Ricky Nelson, born Eric Hilliard Nelson on May 8, 1940, in Teaneck, New Jersey, was an American musician, singer, and actor. He rose to fame as a teenage idol in the late 1950s with hits like "Poor Little Fool" and "Travelin' Man." Nelson had a successful music career, with over 50 songs reaching the Billboard Hot 100. He also starred in the popular TV show "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" alongside his family. Tragically, Nelson died in a plane crash on December 31, 1985, at the age of 45. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
