He was born on May 8, 1940, in Teaneck, New Jersey, and tragically passed away on December 31, 1985, in a plane crash in De Kalb, Texas. Nelson was the son of famous bandleader Ozzie Nelson and singer Harriet Hilliard, and he began his music career at a young age, performing with his family on the radio and later on their television show "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet."
Ricky Nelson had numerous hit songs throughout his career, including "Poor Little Fool," "Travelin' Man," and "Hello Mary Lou." He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
