He was born on May 8, 1940, in Teaneck, New Jersey, and tragically passed away on December 31, 1985, in a plane crash near De Kalb, Texas. Nelson began his career as a teen idol, gaining popularity for his role on the television series "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" and releasing hit songs such as "Poor Little Fool" and "Travelin' Man."


Throughout his career, Ricky Nelson successfully transitioned from a teen idol to a respected rock and roll artist.
