Ricky Nelson, born Eric Hilliard Nelson on May 8, 1940, was an American singer, musician, and actor. He gained fame as a teen idol during the late 1950s and early 1960s with hits such as "Poor Little Fool" and "Travelin' Man." Nelson was one of the early rock and roll artists to successfully transition from a music career to acting, starring in the popular television series "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" alongside his real-life family.
Throughout his career, Ricky Nelson released over 30 studio albums and charted numerous hit singles. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. Nelson tragically passed away in a plane crash on December 31, 1985, at the age of 45. Despite his untimely death, his music and contributions to the entertainment industry continue to be celebrated by fans and fellow artists.
