Artist Bio:
Ritchie Valens was a talented American musician born on May 13, 1941, in Los Angeles, California. He became a prominent figure in the Chicano rock movement of the late 1950s and is best known for his hit songs "La Bamba" and "Donna." Valens rose to fame at a young age, with his music career taking off in 1958 after signing with Del-Fi Records.
Tragically, Valens' career was cut short when he died in a plane crash on February 3, 1959, along with fellow musicians Buddy Holly and J.P. Richardson. This event became known as "The Day the Music Died." Despite his short-lived career, Ritchie Valens made a significant impact on the music industry, influencing future generations of musicians with his unique blend of rock and roll, Latin, and R&B music.
