Robert John is an American singer-songwriter known for his hit song "Sad Eyes," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1979. He was born Robert John Pedrick Jr. on January 3, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York. In addition to "Sad Eyes," he also had a hit with the song "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," which reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1972.
Robert John began his music career in the 1960s and continued to release music throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
