Roberta Flack was born on February 10, 1937, in North Carolina, and Donny Hathaway was born on October 1, 1945, in Chicago. They collaborated on several successful duets, including the Grammy Award-winning song "Where Is the Love" in 1973. Flack and Hathaway also released the well-received album "Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway" in 1972, which featured their hit single "You've Got a Friend."

Despite their successful collaborations, both artists also had successful solo careers. Roberta Flack is known for hits like "Killing Me Softly with His Song" and "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," while Donny Hathaway is remembered for songs like "The Ghetto" and "A Song for You."
