They collaborated on several successful duets, including the Grammy Award-winning song "Where Is the Love" in 1973. Flack and Hathaway also released the well-received album "Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway" in 1972, which featured their hit single "You've Got a Friend."
Despite their successful collaborations, both artists also had successful solo careers. Roberta Flack is known for hits like "Killing Me Softly with His Song" and "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," while Donny Hathaway is remembered for songs like "The Ghetto" and "A Song for You." Tragically, Donny Hathaway passed away in 1979 at the age of 33. Roberta Flack continues to be celebrated as a talented singer-songwriter in the realms of soul and R&B music.
