Roger Williams was an American pianist and composer born on October 1, 1924, in Nebraska. He achieved great success in the 1950s and 1960s with his popular instrumental music, particularly in the easy listening genre. Williams was known for his smooth and melodic piano playing, which earned him the nickname "The Pianist to the Presidents" as he performed for multiple U.S. Presidents over the years.


Williams had a prolific career, releasing over 100 albums and singles, with his most famous recording being the song "Autumn Leaves" which reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts in 1955. He also won two Grammy Awards for his music and was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Roger Williams passed away on October 8, 2011, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful piano music that continues to be enjoyed by fans around the world.
