Ronnie Dyson was an American singer and actor born on June 5, 1950, in Washington, D.C. He gained fame in the late 1960s and 1970s for his soulful voice and impressive vocal range. Dyson's breakthrough came in 1969 when he landed the lead role in the Broadway musical "Hair," which led to a recording contract with Columbia Records. He released several successful albums, including his self-titled debut in 1970 and "One Man Band" in 1973. Dyson is best known for his hit songs "One Man Band" and "If You Let Me Make Love to You Then Why Can't I Touch You?".


In addition to his music career, Dyson also pursued acting, appearing in films such as "Hair" and "The Sting II." He continued to perform and record music throughout the 1980s and 1990s, showcasing his versatile talent and powerful vocals. Tragically, Ronnie Dyson passed away on November 10, 1990, at the age of 40 due to heart failure. Despite his untimely death, his music continues to be celebrated by fans of soul and R&B.
