Artist Bio:
Ronny And The Daytonas were an American surf rock band formed in Nashville, Tennessee in the early 1960s. The group's most famous song is "G.T.O.", which was released in 1964 and reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song is an ode to the Pontiac GTO muscle car and became a classic of the surf rock genre.
The band's lineup consisted of John "Bucky" Wilkin, Paul Jensen, Thomas Ramey, and Lee Kraft. Despite their initial success with "G.T.O.", Ronny And The Daytonas struggled to replicate the song's popularity with their subsequent releases and disbanded in the late 1960s. However, "G.T.O." has remained a popular song and has been featured in various films, TV shows, and commercials over the years.
