Artist Bio:
Ronny and the Daytonas were an American surf rock band that formed in Nashville, Tennessee in the early 1960s. The band is best known for their hit single "G.T.O." which was released in 1964 and reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was inspired by the Pontiac GTO muscle car and featured a catchy chorus that became a classic in the surf rock genre.
Despite the success of "G.T.O.," Ronny and the Daytonas were unable to replicate this level of commercial success with their subsequent releases. The band disbanded in the late 1960s after releasing a few more singles and one full-length album. Despite their relatively short-lived career, Ronny and the Daytonas left a lasting impact on the surf rock genre and are remembered for their energetic and catchy tunes.
