Roy Head was an American singer, best known for his hit single "Treat Her Right" which reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1965. Born on January 9, 1941, in Three Rivers, Texas, Head started his music career by performing in talent shows and local clubs in the 1950s. He formed a band called The Traits, and together they gained popularity for their energetic live performances.
In addition to "Treat Her Right," Roy Head released several other singles throughout the 1960s and 1970s, but none achieved the same level of success. Despite this, he continued to perform and record music, earning a reputation as a dynamic and charismatic performer. Roy Head was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame in 2007 for his contributions to rock and roll music. He passed away on September 21, 2020, at the age of 79.
