Roy Head was an American singer, best known for his hit single "Treat Her Right," which reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1965. Born in Three Rivers, Texas in 1941, Head began his music career in the 1950s, performing in various bands before eventually forming his own group, The Traits. He gained popularity for his energetic live performances and soulful voice, drawing influence from genres such as rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and country music.
In addition to his success with "Treat Her Right," Roy Head continued to release music throughout the 1960s and 1970s, although he never replicated the same level of commercial success. Despite this, he remained a respected figure in the music industry, known for his dynamic stage presence and powerful vocals. Roy Head passed away in 2020 at the age of 79, leaving behind a legacy as a talented and influential artist in the realm of rock and soul music.
