Roy Rogers, born Leonard Franklin Slye (1911-1998), was an American singer and actor known as the "King of the Cowboys." He began his career as a musician, forming the group Sons of the Pioneers in the 1930s. Rogers gained popularity for his singing and cowboy persona, eventually transitioning to acting in Western films in the 1940s. He starred in over 100 films and television episodes and became one of the most popular Western stars of his time.
Rogers appeared in numerous movies alongside his famous horse Trigger and his wife Dale Evans, with whom he also recorded music. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Western Performers Hall of Fame for his contributions to both music and film. Roy Rogers's clean-cut image and wholesome entertainment style made him a beloved figure in American popular culture.
