Artist Bio:
The Royal Teens were an American rock and roll band formed in New Jersey in 1956. The group consisted of Bob Gaudio on keyboard and vocals, Tom Austin on drums, Billy Dalton on guitar, and Billy Crandall on saxophone. They are best known for their hit single "Short Shorts," which was released in 1958 and reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song became a classic of the doo-wop genre and has been covered by numerous artists over the years.
Following the success of "Short Shorts," the Royal Teens released several more singles, but none achieved the same level of success. The band eventually disbanded in the early 1960s. Despite their relatively short-lived career, the Royal Teens made a lasting impact on the rock and roll scene of the late 1950s, and their music continues to be celebrated by fans of the genre.
