Carla Thomas, born in 1942, followed in her father's musical footsteps and became a successful soul singer in her own right. She was the first female artist signed to the iconic Stax Records and had hits such as "Gee Whiz (Look at His Eyes)" and "B-A-B-Y." Rufus and Carla Thomas also collaborated on several duets, including the popular song "Cause I Love You." Their contributions to the soul and R&B genres have left a lasting impact on the music industry.
