Artist Bio:
Run-D.M.C. was an American hip hop group formed in Queens, New York in 1981. The group consisted of Joseph "Run" Simmons, Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels, and Jason "Jam Master Jay" Mizell. They were one of the most influential and successful acts in the history of hip hop, known for their groundbreaking fusion of rock and rap music. Run-D.M.C. were the first hip hop group to earn a platinum record, the first to have a music video aired on MTV, and the first to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Their hits include "It's Tricky," "My Adidas," and "Walk This Way" featuring Aerosmith.

Run-D.M.C. was known for their distinctive fashion style, wearing Adidas sneakers without laces and fedoras, which became iconic in hip hop culture. They were also known for their socially conscious lyrics, addressing issues such as drug use, violence, and poverty. The group's impact on hip hop music and culture is widely recognized, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. Tragically, Jam Master Jay was murdered in 2002, leading to the group's disbandment.
