Artist Bio:
Run-D.M.C. was an American hip hop group formed in 1981 in Hollis, Queens, New York. The group was composed of Joseph Simmons (Run), Darryl McDaniels (D.M.C.), and Jason Mizell (Jam Master Jay). Run-D.M.C. is widely regarded as one of the most influential and groundbreaking acts in the history of hip hop. They were the first hip hop group to earn a gold record, to be nominated for a Grammy Award, and to appear on MTV.


Run-D.M.C. is known for their hits such as "It's Tricky," "Walk This Way" (a collaboration with Aerosmith), and "My Adidas." They were also pioneers in incorporating rock and rap, as well as promoting the fusion of hip hop music and fashion. Run-D.M.C. broke barriers and helped to bring hip hop into the mainstream, paving the way for future generations of artists.
