RuPaul, whose real name is RuPaul Andre Charles, is an American drag queen, actor, model, singer, and television personality. Born on November 17, 1960, in San Diego, California, RuPaul first gained prominence in the 1990s with the release of his hit single "Supermodel (You Better Work)" and his groundbreaking talk show, "The RuPaul Show." He is widely regarded as the most commercially successful drag queen in the United States.


RuPaul is best known for creating and hosting the reality competition television series "RuPaul's Drag Race," which first premiered in 2009. The show has since become a cultural phenomenon, winning multiple Emmy Awards and launching the careers of numerous drag queens. RuPaul has also acted in various films and TV shows, including "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar" and "AJ and the Queen." Throughout his career, RuPaul has been a prominent advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and has used his platform to promote self-love and acceptance.
