Artist Bio:
Rush was a Canadian rock band formed in 1968 consisting of guitarist Alex Lifeson, bassist and vocalist Geddy Lee, and drummer Neil Peart. They are known for their complex compositions, virtuosic instrumental performances, and philosophical lyrics. Rush is considered one of the most successful and influential rock bands in history, with a career spanning over four decades and selling over 40 million albums worldwide.
The band's music is characterized by intricate arrangements, unconventional time signatures, and multi-layered soundscapes. Some of their most popular albums include "2112" (1976), "Moving Pictures" (1981), and "Permanent Waves" (1980). Rush was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013, and their live performances were renowned for their energy and musicianship. Tragically, Neil Peart passed away in 2020, leading to the official disbandment of Rush.
