Artist Bio:
Sam Cooke was an influential American singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur, born on January 22, 1931, in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He is often referred to as the "King of Soul" for his distinctive vocal style and contributions to the genre. Cooke began his music career as a member of the gospel group The Soul Stirrers before transitioning to secular music in the late 1950s.


In the 1960s, Cooke achieved commercial success with hits like "You Send Me," "Wonderful World," and "A Change is Gonna Come." He was known for his smooth voice, charismatic stage presence, and ability to blend gospel, R&B, and pop influences in his music. Tragically, Cooke's life was cut short when he was shot and killed under mysterious circumstances at the age of 33 in 1964. Despite his untimely death, Sam Cooke's music continues to inspire and influence artists across various genres to this day.
