Sammy Hagar is an American rock vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter born on October 13, 1947, in Salinas, California. He is best known for his solo career, as well as for being the lead singer of the band Van Halen from 1985 to 1996. Hagar first gained recognition in the 1970s as a member of the band Montrose before launching a successful solo career in the 1980s.
Throughout his career, Hagar has released hit songs such as "I Can't Drive 55" and "Right Now." He has also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Van Halen. In addition to his music career, Hagar is also a successful entrepreneur, owning several restaurants and a popular tequila brand called Cabo Wabo.
