Sammy Hagar is an American rock vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter born on October 13, 1947, in Salinas, California. He is best known for his solo career and for being the lead singer of the band Van Halen from 1985 to 1996. Hagar replaced David Lee Roth as the lead singer of Van Halen and brought a new energy to the band, contributing to the success of albums like "5150" and "OU812."
Prior to joining Van Halen, Hagar had a successful solo career with hits like "I Can't Drive 55" and "Your Love is Driving Me Crazy." He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Van Halen in 2007. Additionally, Hagar is also a successful entrepreneur, with ventures in the restaurant and liquor industries, including his own brand of tequila called Cabo Wabo.
