Artist Bio:
Sammy Hagar, born Samuel Roy Hagar on October 13, 1947, is an American rock vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter. He is best known for his successful solo career, as well as for being the lead singer of the band Van Halen from 1985 to 1996. Hagar first gained national attention as the lead singer of the band Montrose in the 1970s before launching his solo career in the 1980s. He has released several solo albums, including the successful "Standing Hampton" and "Three Lock Box." Hagar also formed the supergroup Chickenfoot in 2008, alongside former Van Halen bandmate Michael Anthony, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and guitarist Joe Satriani.


In addition to his music career, Hagar is a successful entrepreneur, founding the Cabo Wabo Tequila brand and the Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. He is also known for his philanthropic efforts, including his annual birthday bash concerts that raise money for local charities. Hagar has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Van Halen.
