Sammy Hagar is an American rock vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter who rose to fame in the 1970s as the lead singer of the band Montrose. He later achieved greater success as a solo artist and as the lead vocalist of the rock band Van Halen. Hagar was born on October 13, 1947, in Salinas, California.
Known for his powerful voice and energetic stage presence, Hagar has released several successful solo albums and has been involved in various musical projects throughout his career. In addition to his music career, Hagar is also a successful entrepreneur, having founded the popular tequila brand Cabo Wabo. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Van Halen in 2007.
