Santana is a Mexican-American musician and guitarist, born on July 20, 1947, in Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco, Mexico. He is best known for his fusion of rock and Latin American music, particularly in the genre of Latin rock. Santana rose to fame in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his band, Santana, which was formed in San Francisco in 1966. The band's performance at the Woodstock Festival in 1969 helped catapult them to international stardom.
Throughout his career, Santana has won multiple Grammy Awards and has sold over 100 million records worldwide. Some of his most popular songs include "Black Magic Woman," "Oye Como Va," and "Smooth," featuring Rob Thomas. Santana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. He continues to tour and release new music, maintaining a strong fan base around the world.
