Scatman John, born John Paul Larkin in 1942, was an American musician known for his unique blend of scat singing and dance music. He rose to fame in the 1990s with his hit single "Scatman (Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop)", which reached the top of the charts in multiple countries. Scatman John's music often featured positive and empowering messages, promoting self-acceptance and unity.
Aside from his musical career, Scatman John was also a stutterer and struggled with a speech impediment for much of his life. He used his music to raise awareness about stuttering and to inspire others to overcome their own challenges. Tragically, Scatman John passed away in 1999 at the age of 57 due to lung cancer. Despite his untimely death, his music continues to be celebrated for its catchy beats, uplifting themes, and unique vocal style.
