Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 was a Brazilian group led by pianist and arranger Sergio Mendes. The group was formed in 1966 and gained international success for their unique blend of bossa nova and samba with pop and jazz elements. The band's lineup featured Mendes on piano, Lani Hall on vocals, Janis Hansen on vocals, Bob Matthews on bass, Jose Soares on percussion, and Joao Palma on drums.


Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 achieved commercial success with their hit singles "Mas Que Nada" and "The Look of Love."
