Artist Bio:
Shabba Ranks, born Rexton Rawlston Fernando Gordon in St. Ann, Jamaica in 1966, is a prominent dancehall and reggae artist known for his deep, rough voice and energetic performances. He rose to fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s with hits like "Mr. Loverman" and "Ting-A-Ling," becoming one of the most popular dancehall artists of that era. Shabba Ranks won two Grammy Awards for Best Reggae Album in 1992 and 1993 for his albums "As Raw as Ever" and "X-tra Naked," respectively.


Aside from his musical success, Shabba Ranks is also known for his distinctive fashion sense, often sporting flashy, colorful outfits and large jewelry. He has collaborated with numerous other artists throughout his career, including Maxi Priest, KRS-One, and Queen Latifah. Despite taking a break from the music scene in the late 1990s, Shabba Ranks remains a respected figure in the reggae and dancehall genres.
