The song's success helped propel their debut album of the same name to platinum status.
Following the success of their debut album, Shai released their sophomore album "Blackface" in 1995, which featured the hit single "The Place Where You Belong." Despite their early success, Shai struggled to maintain mainstream popularity in the following years. The group continues to perform and release music, with various lineup changes over the years.
