Artist Bio:
Shakespear's Sister is a British pop-rock music project formed by Siobhan Fahey in 1988. Fahey was previously a member of the successful girl group Bananarama. Marcella Detroit, an American musician, joined the project in 1989, and the duo achieved commercial success with their debut album "Sacred Heart" in 1989, which included the hit single "You're History."
The group's biggest success came in 1992 with their second album "Hormonally Yours," which featured the chart-topping single "Stay." The song "Stay" spent eight weeks at number one in the UK charts and won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song. Shakespear's Sister disbanded in 1993, but reformed in 2009 and released a new album titled "Ride Again" in 2019. The duo's music is known for its eclectic mix of pop, rock, and electronic elements, as well as their distinctive visual style and theatrical performances.
