Shakira is a Colombian singer, songwriter, and dancer born on February 2, 1977, in Barranquilla, Colombia. She gained international fame with her 2001 single "Whenever, Wherever" from her fifth studio album, Laundry Service. Shakira is known for her distinctive vocal style which combines pop, rock, and Latin influences. She has won numerous awards, including three Grammy Awards, twelve Latin Grammy Awards, and several World Music Awards.
In addition to her music career, Shakira is also a philanthropist known for her work in early childhood education and disaster relief through her Barefoot Foundation. She is also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and has been involved in various charitable initiatives. Shakira has sold over 75 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling Latin music artists of all time.
