Artist Bio:
Shalamar is an American R&B and soul music group that was formed in 1977 by Soul Train talent booker Dick Griffey and singer Don Cornelius. The group's original lineup consisted of Jody Watley, Jeffrey Daniel, and Gerald Brown. They are known for their infectious dance-pop hits, slick choreography, and glamorous style, which helped to define the post-disco sound of the late 1970s and 1980s.

Shalamar released several successful albums throughout the 1980s, including "Big Fun" and "Friends," which spawned hits such as "The Second Time Around" and "A Night to Remember." The group experienced various lineup changes over the years, with Howard Hewett replacing Gerald Brown as the lead vocalist in 1979. Despite these changes, Shalamar continued to enjoy commercial success and influence in the music industry.
