Shalamar is an American R&B and soul music group that was formed in 1977 by Dick Griffey and Don Cornelius. The group's original members were Jody Watley, Jeffrey Daniel, and Gerald Brown. Shalamar achieved success in the late 1970s and 1980s with their unique blend of funk, disco, and soul music.


Their biggest hits include "The Second Time Around", "A Night to Remember", and "Make That Move". Shalamar's energetic and synchronized dance routines, particularly by Jeffrey Daniel, brought them much attention and popularity. The group went through several lineup changes over the years but continued to release music and tour. Shalamar remains a beloved and influential group in the R&B and soul music genres.
