She is best known for her role as Mary Stone on the television series "The Donna Reed Show," which aired from 1958 to 1966. In addition to her work on "The Donna Reed Show," Fabares appeared in various other television shows and films throughout her career, including "Coach" and the "Love, American Style" anthology series. She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for her role in the television film "Brian's Song" in 1972.
