Artist Bio:
Shep and The Limelites were an American doo-wop group formed in Queens, New York in 1961. The group consisted of James "Shep" Sheppard, Clarence Bassett, and Charles Baskerville. Sheppard was previously a member of the Heartbeats, another popular doo-wop group in the 1950s.
Shep and The Limelites are best known for their hit song "Daddy's Home," which reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1961. The group continued to release music throughout the 1960s but never achieved the same level of success as they did with "Daddy's Home." Despite their relatively short-lived time in the spotlight, Shep and The Limelites left a lasting impact on the doo-wop genre with their smooth harmonies and soulful sound.
