Shep And The Limelites were an American doo-wop group formed in Queens, New York in 1961. The group consisted of James "Shep" Sheppard, Clarence Bassett, and Charles Baskerville. Sheppard was previously a member of the group The Heartbeats before forming Shep And The Limelites.
Their most famous song is "Daddy's Home," which was released in 1961 and reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The group continued to release music throughout the 1960s, with other notable songs including "A Thousand Miles Away" and "Our Anniversary." Despite their success, Shep And The Limelites disbanded in the late 1960s. Their music has endured over the years and they are remembered as a significant doo-wop group from the era.
