Silk is an American R&B group that formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1989. The group consists of members Gary "Big G" Glenn, Gary "Lil G" Jenkins, Timothy "Timzo" Cameron, Jimmy Gates Jr., and Johnathen Rasboro. Silk is known for their smooth harmonies and romantic ballads, which helped them rise to fame in the 1990s.
Silk released their debut album, "Lose Control," in 1992, which included hits such as "Freak Me" and "Girl U For Me." The group continued to find success with subsequent albums, including "Silk" (1995), "Tonight" (1999), and "Love Session" (2001). Silk has been nominated for several awards, including a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group for their song "If You" in 1999. They have maintained a dedicated fan base over the years and continue to perform and record music.
