Simply Red is a British band formed in 1985 by lead vocalist Mick Hucknall. The band's music is a combination of soul, R&B, and pop, with influences from jazz, reggae, and rock. Simply Red's debut album "Picture Book" was released in 1985 and included the hit singles "Holding Back the Years" and "Money's Too Tight (to Mention)." The band's second album "Men and Women" was released in 1987 and featured the popular single "The Right Thing."
Throughout their career, Simply Red has released over a dozen studio albums and sold over 50 million records worldwide. They have won several awards, including multiple Brit Awards and a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1992. Mick Hucknall remains the only constant member of the band, with various musicians joining him for live performances and studio recordings.
