She began her music career in the late 1950s as one-half of the duo The Davis Sisters before pursuing a successful solo career. Davis is best known for her hit songs "The End of the World" and "I Can't Stay Mad at You," both of which reached the top of the country and pop music charts in the 1960s.
Throughout her career, Skeeter Davis released over 30 albums and had numerous chart-topping singles.
