Skip and Flip were an American pop music duo consisting of Clyde "Skip" Battin and Gary S. Paxton. They are best known for their hit song "Cherry Pie" which was released in 1960 and reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The duo's signature sound was characterized by their harmonizing vocals and catchy melodies, which appealed to audiences during the early 1960s.
Prior to forming Skip and Flip, Clyde Battin had a successful career as a musician and songwriter, while Gary Paxton was a producer and singer. Together, they released a string of singles in the early 1960s before disbanding in 1961.
