Slave was an American funk band formed in Dayton, Ohio in 1975. The core members of the band were Steve Washington, Mark Hicks, Mark Adams, Danny Webster, Floyd Miller, and Tom Lockett. Their music was a mix of funk, R&B, and soul, and they were known for their tight grooves and energetic live performances.


Slave gained popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s with hits such as "Slide," "Just a Touch of Love," and "Watching You." They were signed to Cotillion Records and released a series of successful albums during their career. The band's music has been sampled by numerous hip-hop and R&B artists over the years, solidifying their influence on the music industry. Slave disbanded in the mid-1980s, but their music continues to be celebrated by fans of funk and R&B.
