Sly & The Family Stone was an American band formed in San Francisco in 1966. The band was known for their unique blend of rock, funk, soul, and psychedelic music, and they were one of the first integrated bands in the music industry, featuring both black and white musicians. The band's lineup included Sly Stone as the frontman, along with his brother Freddie Stone on guitar, sister Rose Stone on keyboards, Cynthia Robinson on trumpet, Jerry Martini on saxophone, Larry Graham on bass, and Greg Errico on drums.


Sly & The Family Stone achieved commercial success in the late 1960s and early 1970s with hits like "Everyday People," "Dance to the Music," and "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)." The band's music was known for its positive messages of peace, love, and unity, and they were influential in shaping the sound of funk music. Sly & The Family Stone were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
