Smokey, also known as Smokey Robinson, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer who is considered one of the most important and influential figures in the history of popular music. He was born on February 19, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan. Smokey is best known for his work as the founder and frontman of the Motown group The Miracles, as well as for his solo career. He has written and produced numerous hits, such as "The Tracks of My Tears," "Tears of a Clown," and "Being with You."


Smokey Robinson has received multiple awards and honors throughout his career, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016. He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1989. Smokey's smooth tenor voice, unique vocal style, and poetic lyrics have made him a beloved figure in the music industry for over six decades.
