Smokey Robinson, born William Robinson Jr. on February 19, 1940, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known for being a founding member and the frontman of the vocal group The Miracles, which became one of Motown Records' first successful acts. Robinson is often referred to as the "King of Motown" and is credited with helping to shape the sound of Motown in the 1960s.


Throughout his career, Smokey Robinson has achieved great success both as a solo artist and as part of The Miracles. He has produced numerous hit songs, including "The Tracks of My Tears," "Tears of a Clown," and "Cruisin'." Robinson has received multiple awards for his contributions to music, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He continues to perform and record music, solidifying his legacy as one of the most influential figures in the history of popular music.
