Artist Bio:
Smokey Robinson & The Miracles were an American rhythm and blues and soul group hailing from Detroit, Michigan. The group was formed in 1955 by Smokey Robinson, Warren "Pete" Moore, Ronnie White, Bobby Rogers, and Claudette Rogers. They were one of the first successful acts for Berry Gordy's Motown Records and played a significant role in the label's early success. Smokey Robinson served as the primary songwriter and producer for the group, and their smooth harmonies and Robinson's distinctive falsetto vocals were signature elements of their sound.
The Miracles achieved numerous hits on the Billboard R&B and pop charts, including classics like "Shop Around," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me," and "The Tears of a Clown." They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and are considered one of the most influential and successful vocal groups in the history of popular music.
