Smokey Robinson & The Miracles were an American rhythm and blues vocal group formed in Detroit in 1955. The group's original lineup consisted of Smokey Robinson, Warren "Pete" Moore, Ronnie White, Bobby Rogers, and Claudette Robinson. They were one of the first successful acts for Berry Gordy's Motown Records, with Smokey Robinson serving as the group's primary songwriter and producer.
The group scored numerous hits throughout the 1960s, including classics like "Shop Around," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me," and "The Tracks of My Tears." They are also known for their dynamic performances and smooth harmonies. Smokey Robinson & The Miracles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, recognizing their significant contributions to the genre of soul music.
