Smokey Robinson & The Miracles were an American rhythm and blues vocal group that formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1955. The group was led by singer-songwriter Smokey Robinson and achieved major success in the 1960s with hits such as "Shop Around," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me," and "Tears of a Clown." They were one of the first acts signed to Motown Records and played a key role in the label's early success.
The Miracles were known for their smooth vocal harmonies and soulful sound, with Robinson's distinctive falsetto vocals standing out as a defining feature of the group. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 and have been hailed as one of the greatest vocal groups of all time. Smokey Robinson & The Miracles disbanded in the late 1970s, but their music continues to be celebrated and influential in the world of soul and R&B.
