Smokey Robinson & The Miracles were an American rhythm and blues vocal group formed in Detroit in 1955. The group was led by singer-songwriter Smokey Robinson and included members Warren "Pete" Moore, Bobby Rogers, Ronnie White, and Claudette Robinson. They were one of the first successful acts for Berry Gordy's Motown Records, with their early hits including "Shop Around" and "You've Really Got a Hold on Me."
The Miracles achieved major success in the 1960s with hits like "Tears of a Clown" and "I Second That Emotion." Smokey Robinson's smooth and soulful voice, combined with the group's tight harmonies and catchy melodies, contributed to their enduring popularity. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, recognizing their significant influence on the development of Motown and their contributions to the soul and R&B music genres.
