Smokey Robinson & The Miracles were an American rhythm and blues vocal group formed in 1955 in Detroit, Michigan. The group's original members included Smokey Robinson, Warren "Pete" Moore, Ronnie White, Bobby Rogers, and Claudette Rogers. They were one of the first acts signed to Berry Gordy's Motown Records and became one of the label's most successful and influential acts.
Smokey Robinson & The Miracles released a string of hit singles in the 1960s, including "Shop Around," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me," and "The Tracks of My Tears." They were known for their smooth harmonies, soulful vocals, and Robinson's distinctive falsetto voice. The group's success helped establish Motown Records as a major player in the music industry, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
